The International Scientific Conference “Safe, Sustainable, and Swift Reconstruction of Ukraine” will take place on 19–20 March 2026 in the main building of Lviv Polytechnic National University. The building is equipped with a reliable and well-prepared shelter. In the event of an air raid alert, conference participants will be organised and guided to the refuge in accordance with current safety regulations and instructions provided by the organisers. Lviv currently maintains a stable security environment, and all necessary safety measures are in place.
Due to the current security situation, civil aviation to Ukraine is temporarily suspended. International participants are advised to plan their travel to Lviv via neighbouring countries, in particular Poland (airports in Kraków, Katowice, Rzeszów, Warsaw, Lublin), Hungary (Budapest Airport), Slovakia (Košice), or Romania (Suceava, Iași), followed by travel by train or international bus services. When planning the trip, participants should consider possible delays at border crossing points.
Lviv has convenient railway and intercity bus connections with all major cities of Ukraine. Regular daytime and night trains operate from Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, and other regional centres. Due to high demand, train tickets are recommended to be purchased 20 days in advance via the official application or website of Ukrainian Railways at https://booking.uz.gov.ua/. A large number of regular intercity bus services to Lviv are also available.
Participants are advised to book accommodation in advance. The following hotels are located close to the conference venue: Hotel EDEM (approximately 200 m): https://hotel-edem.lviv.ua/, Premier Hotel Dnister (approximately 400 m): https://dnister-hotel.phnr.com/ua, and Bank Hotel (approximately 800 m, city centre): https://bankhotel.com.ua/. Additional accommodation options of various price categories are available throughout the city.
Lviv has a well-developed public transport network, as well as taxi and ride-hailing services (Bolt, Uber). Getting around the city is convenient and accessible.
The Local Organising Committee will provide additional clarifications and practical information upon request.
Please note that travel expenses, daily allowances, and accommodation costs are not covered by the organisers and must be borne by participants individually.
For most citizens of European countries, the United States, and the United Kingdom, entry to Ukraine for short-term purposes (such as conference participation) is visa-free in accordance with Ukrainian legislation. Citizens of other non-EU countries may be subject to different entry or visa requirements.
In general, for visa-free entry, travellers are required to have a valid international passport covering the period of stay. Travel health insurance is strongly recommended and may be requested at the border.
Participants are strongly advised to check the latest entry, visa, and customs requirements before travelling, as rules and procedures may change. Official and up-to-date information is available on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine: https://mfa.gov.ua/en/.
When crossing the border, delays may occur, participants are kindly advised to allow additional time for passport and customs control, especially when travelling by train or bus.
